Matthew Monahan 
CEO & Co-Founder
Matthew is the CEO and co-founder of Inflection. He leads the product team and loves writing specs. Matthew
attended the University of Southern California and left during his junior year to pursue entrepreneurship. He successfully sold his first business at the age of 22 and then came to Silicon Valley. Matthew's passion is bringing together the worlds of technology, marketing, and design to build something new. He is an avid reader whose other interests include psychology, thinking about the future, and changing names.
John Spottiswood 
Executive VP, Business & Corp Development
John runs business and corporate development at Inflection. One of the company's first executives,
John has done everything from recruiting early team members to landing major partnerships to sourcing analytics software. Before Inflection, John's impressive background includes VP positions at Quinstreet and DemandTec (both now public companies), President at Match.com (managing the sale to Interactive Corp), and Harvard Business School. John's interests include being a parent, cooking, and turning his office into a personal gym.
Paddy Deshmukh 
VP, Engineering
Paddy Deshmukh joined Inflection in August, 2009. Paddy is the "train conductor" who keeps the product
development team agile and the releases on time. Prior to Inflection, Paddy was the Co-Founder and VP of Product Development at Weblistic, an innovative software system for local online marketing (acquired by Spot Runner). Before that Paddy was the Director of Engineering at Yellowpages.com (acquired by AT&T) and spent several years at Sabre. Paddy likes hiking and music and aspires to conduct a Bollywood Orchestra one day.
Joe Godfrey 
Senior Product Manager, Archives.com
Joe joined Inflection in May, 2009 and drove the launch of Archives.com. He manages the Archives business and its
continued growth in the family history market. Joe's background includes positions at Microsoft, Amazon, and Bain Consulting. He also received an MBA from Harvard Business School. Joe's other interests include snow boarding, hiking, world travel, and sounding like a broken record.
Nachi Sendowski 
Lead Senior Architect
Nachi began consulting with Inflection in early 2007 and joined full-time in February, 2008. Alongside Conrad,
Nachi is the mastermind architect behind STORM, Inflection's e-commerce and marketing platform. Before Inflection, Nachi was the VP Software Development at Healinx and VP Product Technology at RelayHealth. As the Managing Partner of The Enticy Group, Nachi also consulted with Hot Topic Media, which led to his introduction to Inflection. Nachi's interests include snow boarding, spending time with his daughters, and writing code with 0% defects.
Brian D. Crane 
Manager, Business Development
Brian David Crane, also known as "BDC", joined Inflection in June, 2008. Brian's lively spirits and
rambunctious attitude help set the pace for Inflection's marketing and business development team. Brian manages the company's affiliate program and traffic partnerships. Before Inflection, Brian was serving as a local hospital's Spanish translator and trading options as one of the founding members of a small private equity fund. He also co-founded Cash4Cartridges USA, a regional e-waste recycling company that he sold in 2007. Brian's interests include soccer, investing, politics, and sending beef jerky to partners.
Rich Rupp 
Senior Product Manager
Rich joined Inflection in May, 2008. He has led the development of several web properties and now
manages the platform and people search releases. Before Inflection Rich spent three years at QuinStreet (now a public company) as Senior Project Manager and held prior Internet marketing roles with E-com Media Group, Avaltus, and Niku Corporation. Rich revels in being a new parent, not shaving during sprint burndowns, and reminiscing about his "domeslug days".
Tai Kenning 
Senior User Experience Designer
Tai joined Inflection in June, 2009 and leads the company's visual design and brand initiatives. In addition
to bringing the Archives and Inflection brands to market, Tai is uniquely gifted at balancing visually-pleasing designs with results-driven direct marketing. Before Inflection, Tai spent over 7 years at Quinstreet (now a public company), where he served as the Lead Visual/User Experience Designer. Tai's passions include travel, art, and banging on drums.
Brian Monahan 
Chief Idea Guy & Co-Founder
Brian started Inflection in his Harvard dorm room in 2006. During spring break of his sophomore year, Brian came
to Palo Alto to visit Matthew and crash on his couch. He never left - leaving his mother zero-for-two on sons to finish college (fortunately, she is very understanding!). Brian's role at the company includes leading the traffic team, helping with product development, and identifying new opportunities. Brian's other interests include politics, economics, and not paying rent.
Jeremy Wood 
VP, Finance
Jeremy joined Inflection in March 2009 and oversees finance and e-commerce operations. Before Inflection,
Jeremy was the VP of Finance at Netflix, where he helped grow the company from $70 million to $1 billion in revenue (and go public). Combining his aptitude with numbers, Netflix experiences, and good humor, Jeremy has helped Inflection scale its e-commerce platform to enterprise strength. Jeremy is a huge Warren Buffett fan whose interests include investing, gardening, and hand gestures.
Brad Roberts 
VP, Product Operations
Brad joined Inflection in August 2010 to lead Product Operations. Brad manages our efforts at building new
product expansion areas and in deepening our insights from our leading edge site analytics. Brad's background includes roles as VP of Channels at Synopsys leading business growth programs and business analytics, strategy manager for technology companies at Bain & Company, and CEO/Founder of a 1.0 consumer internet company.
Prior to coming to California, Brad earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. Brad's passions include home remodeling, camping, and leading the Inflection motorcycle police patrol.
Erik D. Jones 
Senior Director, Engineering Operations
Erik was the first engineer to join Inflection. Formerly known as "tech czar", Erik built the infrastructure that
enabled the team to scale and stay agile. He also built the original prototype that would eventually become Archives.com. Before Inflection, Erik was the founder of Jacobian Engineering, an aerospace and engineering company that worked on space programs for the army, navy, and NASA. Erik also spent 6 years at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. At Inflection, Erik now runs the New Technology Group, which plans on sending the first manned spacecraft to Mars. Erik enjoys flying, sailing, and being the only San Francisco resident who gets a sunburn every weekend.
Conrad Cady 
Lead Senior Architect
Conrad began consulting with Inflection in early 2007 and joined full-time in February, 2008. Conrad is the
other lead architect behind STORM and helped scale the Inflection engineering team on a shared application framework. Conrad's consulting experience ranges from large corporations (Accenture) to startups (RelayHealth) to independent consulting (The Enticy Group, CadyTech). Conrad's interests include theatre, explaining complicated technical concepts in laymen's terms, and singing at company holiday parties.
Michelle Steinbeck 
Director, Member Services
Michelle joined Inflection in September, 2008 and led the opening of its Omaha Member Services Center.
Starting from scratch, Michelle has built an enterprise contact center that employs over a dozen agents, provides phone and email support 7 days a week, and strengthens Inflection's customer-oriented culture. Prior to Inflection, Michelle was the Senior Manager of Customer Service at LinkedIn and spent over 9 years at West TeleServices before that. Michelle is an exercise instructor, Mom, and loves to talk about the weather.
Adrian Le Pera 
Senior Product Manager
Adrian joined Inflection in July, 2010 to drive product development for PeopleSmart and the
STORM platform. Before Inflection, Adrian was the co-founder of Qualcy.com, an online lead generation company for which he was recognized as an Endeavor high-impact entrepreneur in 2008, and held various global and regional management roles at Alcatel-Lucent. Adrian's interests include having fun with his kids, traveling, and playing electric guitar.
Josh Hannah
Board Member
Josh is a General Partner at Matrix Partners. He began his entrepreneurial career as the co-founder of Betfair.com, the
sports betting exchange, which processes more than $50 billion in wagers annually. Josh also acquired eHow.com and subsequently sold it for a 400x return to Demand Media. Josh has advised and invested in several promising Internet companies, including Aardvark, Blingo, Huddle, Minted.com, uShip, and Wetpaint.
Matrix Partners has been partnering with entrepreneurs to build industry-leading companies since 1977. Over 50 businesses in its portfolio have gone on to initial public offerings and over 75 have had profitable M&A events. The firm consistently ranks in the top five venture firms in terms of returns to its investors.
Greg Sands
Board Member
Greg is a Managing Director at Sutter Hill Ventures. He began his career as the first product manager at
Netscape, helping launch its initial product line and creating the SuiteSpot business unit. Greg has been an investor at AllBusiness, FeedBurner, Quinstreet, Return Path, and is also a trustee of the Stanford University DAPER Investment Fund.
Sutter Hill Ventures has been investing in technology-based start-ups since 1964. The firm's evergreen fund allows Sutter Hill to make long-term commitments to its companies. The partners invest a significant portion of the firm's capital which aligns their interest with those of the entrepreneurs it backs.
Eben Pagan
Advisor
Eben is the Founder and Chairman of Hot Topic Media, an Internet marketing and coaching company with over
80 full-time employees. Eben was the first person to teach Matthew and Brian online marketing and has been an instrumental mentor and advisor since the company started.
Jeff Stiefler
Advisor
Jeff began advising Inflection in June, 2009. Jeff was the CEO of Digital Insight Corp, which sold to Intuit in
November 2006. He has nearly 2 decades of senior executive management experience, including president at American Express Company and CEO of IDS Financial Services.
Ric Elias
Advisor
Ric is the CEO and Co-Founder of Red Ventures, a leading online customer acquisition firm. Ric bought
Matthew's first business and has been advising Inflection since its inception. Ric's help has been important for landing large partnerships, scaling the marketing group, and making valuable introductions.
